The 3rd photograph show the standard Triumph. The Companion pieces are nearly the same as the Triumph with one end of each piece pointing in the opposite direction. So, the Triumph's pieces are "U" shaped, while the Companion's are "Z" shaped. The 1st and 2nd photographs show two of the configurations possible using pieces from both the Triumph and Companion.

While the Triumph has three distinctly different symmetrical solutions, six when you consider color, the Companion alone has eight. Stewart never bothered to figure out how many were possible when mixing the pieces. Several pairs can be made the will "nest" on top of each other.
