The objective is to remove the ring from the sceptre. The ornamental knobs at either end turn freely.
All of the studs will unscrew. In the original puzzle, only one unscrewed. One of the studs is longer than the others and locks the knob into place via a groove in the rod. The drawing is from Professor Hoffmann's Puzzles Old & New, 1893. | ||
