Patented by W. Altekruse in 1890. All of the pieces are the same. Stewart Coffin found that not only can it be assembled with twelve pieces, but fourteen as well. A larger version with thirty-six or thirty-eight pieces is also possible. There are three solutions, all of which are unusually different from other burrs.
